Hustler has been making antennas for a LONG time.If it fits your application, why not?

I have the Hustler FG-27S.Google it.It's on a Firestik SS-204 mount.I made sure the coil is above the roof line.

    When I'm stationary.I use a MFJ-1966.That's a 108", solid,stainless steel antenna.

If you mismount both of the factory antennas and just mount one antenna, do not use the truck's co-phased cable setup.
    .
You do know that you will need 50 ohm cable ie RG 58, RG 8 etc. for a single antenna seup. Right?
    .
Whatever 50 ohm cable you obtain for a single antenna setup, it does not have to be 18 feet long. A shorter length like 9 feet, 12 feet or even less is actually a better idea. As long as it can connect the radio to the antenna, it will work well.

Theoretically you are correct. In actuality that won't prove to be true on some of the newer model trucks.
