Yes, not a big deal. Its actually helped my miles (gross revenue these days) and I feel there is less slack time than before we got load planning hooked directly into your hours.
No. Your truck is your truck until it comes up for retirement, a serious maintenance problem, or extended home time - on the company side.
Excellent. The only time I have had problems getting something approved is via a night or weekend road assist guy trying to impress his boss. Its not hard to find the right arguement that wins your point of view everytime. Anything that must be taken care of to be legal is done on the spot. If it can be legally deferred, they'll route you to a terminal. Never had a problem being reimbursed for minor parts to make the truck legal either.
Three main ones... Springfield MO, Salt Lake City UT, and Pittston PA - with large shop facilities. There is another shop we still have open in Duke OK... never been there myself. We also have a number of sales facilities with parking (Prime Floral for the most part) - the Denver drop yard was going to be developed into a terminal before we acquired the SLC location and Pittston drew off the expansion capital. It does have a dispatch office with a shower.

The encourage you to minimize idling for fuel conservation. If you don't have an APU on the lease side, your bottom line will help you find the right answer. On the company side, you have to meet a minimum fuel economy number to stay employed. If you idle for cooling in the summer, you need to do it in a way to stay above the bar. All of the trucks have bunk heaters for the winter.
Yes... you'll be required to apply for a passport.
Yup, but nothing too serious as far as I've seen. Its usually refrigerants, photo chemicals, cleaning chemicals...
The reefer engine runs if the load requires it - so does the in-transit heat on the tankers which does require the truck to idle. -
Alright, I had to choose between Jb Hunt or Prime. Hope I made the right decision. I'll be in springfield tuesday night, start orientation on Wednesday, and if all goes well hopefully in a truck friday.

Welcome aboard. Sounds like our young paduans took care of your questions! (Guys Im just kidding!) lol Keep us posted. I have been out here for a while, and started with Prime's training program nine years ago. My how time flies! Haven't been with Prime the whole time, but it is home for me.

IP except for you and me, most of the folks answering are those with the most recent and new experience! This is for the best, as my own experience with training with Prime goes back to the Dark Ages before the Pad and Company Drivers!
