Help, My general lee stays keyed up even after releasing the mic button. Anyone recommend a shop near Denver? I'm headed that way.

sounds like your mic is sticking

Did you try to unplug the mike cord from the radio? A bad switch could cause this. If radio goes back to receive after you remove the mike and you cannot find a good shop you could pick up a Road King 56 at a truck stop until you can get the mike repaired, at least then you would have a spare. If it still stays keyed most likely you have a bad 1 watt PNP transistor or bad 5.1 volt SUS diode, meaning you need a good shop. If so and they quote a high price for repair or tell you it is not worth fixing, especially if they offer you little for it on trade in take your radio and keep looking for a good shop.
You can always get a cheap backup until you find a good location. Try the Sunday morning swap meet on channel 19 in the truck stop. Locations like Sky City are great for this. -

So was it the mic, or the radio?
