Just got an email from Laura. They had some spots open up in the Oct. 3rd class, so looks like I'll be starting soon!

That's awesome JP, I knew you had a good chance to get in :)

Congrats Lantern on getting your class A too, woot!!

I got my class A dl yesterday. I would be happy but I'm not. Other circumstances have clouded my victory. I'll write more next week when hopefully the situation has changed.

Congrats to Jim, he also got his cdl yesterday. And a huge congrats to Mark for passing his pre-trip, and to Victor for passing his skills test :):):)

Wow, it feels like yesterday when I saw you guys and now you're all moving up and getting your CDLs and stuff! I'm coming back to town in 2 weeks. I'm hoping you guys will still be there!

Congratz Strawberry. Curious as to what clouded your victory.. If you care to tell of course. If not, still you have your CDL A. That is a reason for celebration!

Hey everybody I'm back! Crisis has been averted so everything is right in the world again yippee!!

Ok, what had happened was, the day she tested me (skills) she also tested my husband. But he wasn't ready yet, and he failed. UGH. I was so stressed out over it, so I couldn't really enjoy my own success. But they let him practice all this week, and yesterday he passed with flying colors, woo hoo!

On Wednesday Jim and I got to drive the big mammoth truck by ourselves, following Al in the smaller trailer with Mark and Manuel. We went over the skyway bridge, that was SO fun! Jim drove out and he said something about being scared but I thought he was kidding, but sure enough once we started going up he got in the middle lane! He didn't even get in the left lane, he just stayed in the middle blocking traffic lol! I kept telling him he was fine there was plenty of room over there but he wasn't having any of it. I got to drive back. The only bummer for me was that Mark was in front of me and he slowed me down going up.

This last week was kinda hectic because 3 of us had a lot of tests to finish as well as get tested. Mark and Manuel still have to do their driving test. Victor did not do as well driving outside, so they have pushed him into getting his class B. So now there will only be 4 of us going out on the long trips.

There's a new class starting Monday (YAY JP!) so we got moved to the 'senior' room. I guess starting Monday we will be going out in the morning and not coming back until the end of class. Only 2 more weeks, wow!!

Yes we should still be here! We should be near the end of our 8th week I think. It'll be great to see you again, and I hope they make you talk to the new class! :biggrin_25525:

I actually had to push my start date back till spring of next year. Got some stuff I need to get taken care of first. Glad to hear the crisis was averted!

In my class, there was a guy who wasn't doing too well on the backing tests so he had to get a Class B instead. Not saying that's a step down or anything, with a class B you can drive straight trucks and maybe even those expediter trucks, and those guys can make decent money running team expedited freight (for like Panther or FedEx Custom Critical).

I drove over the Skyway with Al in the passenger seat. He said he was a little nervous looking out the window and seeing the water way down below. I asked him if I should get closer to the side so he could get a better view and he told me I was fine right where I was. :)

Psh, the Skyway isn't fun when you can go up it in 10th gear but alas, that's the closest thing to mountain driving we have down in Florida. :(

I'm hoping I have enough time when I'm home next week. Only home for a couple days for an appointment then it's back on the road. I'm hoping to be home the day before the appointment so I do have time to say hi to you crazy kids. :)
