you going to expand to the south in the future? I have over 1 mil miles with no moving violations. clean m.v.r. never picked up a load late or delivered late. usually on the property of receiver long before daylight if allowed. though for the last 2 years I am home every night doing no more than 200 mile runs. usually 1 180 mile then a 125 mile run. 7 am to 8-9 p.m $750.00 a day to the truck I get 80 % of the gross. though some times it gets real slow. my co is having a hard time with c.s.a. & their other drivers. I have an ole 95' intl coe & have one of the best safety & maint records at the co, they pay $500.00 to any o/o who has a d.o.t inspection with no violations.
SHC Thanks this. -
Just hired a great guy from TN and talking to another one. But I can't touch what you are making. $4500 on 100 milrs and home nightly.
But happy to talk. PM me phone number and email. -

My route is good WHEN all goes well. there have been many times where I get 4 loads the entire week. I am always honest & tell dispatchers what I will or will not do. I am picky on where I go, but like I say I lay it all on the table up front. I never work friday's. well rarely. fri is my turn my bills in, get my check, wait in line at bank, stop at truck parts to stock up on anything I think I may need, put truck in my shop & go over ever every inch, make sure it is ready to roll mon morn. I could do better, but I like doing what I want to do, & it is not always financially smart, but I love the freedom to say NO!
It may sound sarcastic, but if I say I do no like Atlanta GA & will not run there, then I will not be forced to go there. like I say I am honest. I hurt myself a lot, by not taking some loads, but it's just me. when I have a chance to take my second load of the day into Nashville tn area, a lot of times my co will have a reload out of Portland Tn area & want to to take that load after unloading in Nashville. I tell them I do not want the Portland load, so they have to give some one else the load going to Nashville, that WILL pick up the load in Portland. this I understand & agree. if a driver takes care of their dispatcher, then the dispatcher should take care of them.
I have been offered many good loads that I turned away, the most common is my run to lavergne Tn. I take those but when they have a reload right out of the same co, unload/reload & the second load goes to willard oh for a rate of 2.22. it is a real good run, not to mention the reload out of willard area back home. but if I don't want to go to OH. then I do not get the Lavergne load to begin with. that seems fair to me.
I also deadhead on every load. 186 miles deadhead back to mill, then 1 of 4 places in Tn to go to then deadhead back home. the 186 mile pay's $450-500 to the truck depending on weight. the second load going to Tn pay's $275.00 to $390.00 depending on weight & which co I unload at, from .70 to .90 % on hundred wt. the last 4 weeks my checks were $2500 min to 3400 max. I have had $ 4 grand at times & just $1200 too. this past week I got 7 loads & got just under $2800.00 to the truck.
my co likes me, cause if they load me my runs ,I run & get the job done. 12 loads in one week & worked 3 loads on a sat one time not long ago. I don't speed, drive reckless, but I don't lollygag around. fuel, bathroom & I am gone, none stop.SHC and scottied67 Thank this. -
[QUOTE $4500 on 100 milrs and home nightly I do not understand ?
-
sorry, typo. In middle of harvest and sometimes things are crazy.
I was looking at $750/day and 200 miles/day @ 5 days - $3750 and 1000 miles. Just seems like a good gig as you orig explained it.heavyhaulerss Thanks this. -
Heavyhaulerss, what Bill is trying to do is build a customer base, contract work. To me this is the opportunity of a lifetime. It's like going to business school except I'm getting paid while learning all these skills. I've been up front with Bill that home weekends is a big deal to me. Where you and I live that's not going to be an issue. It's hard for me to put in words here where these things may go plus the fact I'm leary/conscience this is a public forum and a cutthroat business. I'd be happy to speak with you as well.
BigBadBill, BigJohn54, SHC and 1 other person Thank this. -
