Yes it is by county. We have a very highly populated cluster of counties surrounding me. With gun season, early and late bow season, and muzzle loader season I could get a total of 11 a year here. Unfortunately for me I get very limited amount of time to go but this year I'm making special arrangements to get at least a full week in the woods during gun season alone. -
It's amazing the difference based on the region. We have some major waterways and tons of farmland surrounding. The deer poplualtion here is very healthy. The last doe I killed field dressed at 185 lbs and she was average size. The last buck I killed was a 9 pointer with a 17 inch spread and he dressed at 290 lbs. -

By chance do u know how much an out of state license is? Any good public hunting? Can u rifle hunt? And good luck if u get that week off.FinallyTruckin said: ↑Yes they are and there is a lot of them this size around here. No idea on the cost of out of state license. I hunted public land one time and nearly got shot will never do that again. No need to anyway got plenty of private land to hunt. rifles not aloud in IN. You can use handguns or shotguns in firearm season. Here is a pic of the buck for ya.Attached Files:

It has to be USDA inspected in order to sell it. Hunters can't sell their private kill. Your best bet is to find a local deer hunting friend.
I saw on Craigslist the other day some deer hunter was looking for some people to give his meat to, He liked hunting them but didn't like the meat.
I have a neighbor about 3 houses down that has his own deer slaughterhouse. He stays covered up during deer season.
