Not to mention once you log on duty, the 14 hour clock is ticking no matter how many times you go on the off duty line/berth line, unless you go for 8 hours. Then you might as well go for the 10 to reset for the 11 if possible

And then they say "don't worry I won't be posting here anymore"

I don't drive over my hours. Can't even if I wanted too. Ok I did three times but only by a couple minutes looking for a safe haven after leaving a shipper or receiver that held me too long and wouldn't let me stay..

The days of outlaw trucking are over. By the way, there are 24 hours in a day, not 22! :biggrin_2559:

Only for those of you with elogs and 3rd eye in the sky qualcomm keeping tract of your every move. With paper logs and a company that wants things done it will continue as in years past.

I stand on my last post, 6 hours for some is too long to drive without getting tired. And think of this, law says I have to take a ten hour break, but it doesn't say I have to go to sleep, could just sit and stare at the parking lot for 10 hours then guess what, legal to get behind the wheel again even with no sleep, just log it like it was in sleeper berth.

These laws so nothing to reduce truck accidents, you hear about a driver going to sleep at the wheel, doesn't mean he was over his hours. Sometimes after 8 hours of sleep I still didn't feel like driving right away. it all depends on what you did that day as to how much sleep you need.

    This was his point, 10 + 12 don't equal 24.

Have you ever been inspected? If you are going to cheat, you better be real good at it or you could find yourself in trouble in a hurry as well as your company. Just last week I rolled across the scale in South Carolina and all they were doing was checking log books on everyone rolling through, they weren't even looking at weights. You also don't know how often DOT is showing up at your company to do a log audit. The purpose of CSA is to allow the government to focus their limited resources on the companies and areas that need oversight.

Fortunately fatiqued driving is a very small factor in crashes. It seems drivers have enough sense to get sleep.
