    Ok so is the bottom line this is a bad business idea period or is this a good plan but has flaws? and if theres flaws would anybody with o/o, business experience be willing to help me out. All the risk that was mentioned I'm aware of I've seen my buddy down for months waiting for either a load or repair. This isn't a get rich quick scheme that i woke up one day and said hmm I'll be a o/o today, Ive been running with this idea for a few months now but because I know the business is kind of rocky I'm hesitant to start until I have a proper business plan. Truck breaking down, low paying loads, high fuel cost, toll increase, bad drivers, lazy drivers to me are all part of the business and it's accounted for I know this isn't the greatest business in the world but lets face it truck will be around forever and its a growing market and if done right along with some luck a person can make it.

    The driver you hire will be the key to everything. I know an o/o with 3 trucks doing what you are wanting to do with one. He's got one driver that every owner wishes they had driving their truck, driver takes care of the truck, knows more about the truck than your average driver etc.. just a solid all around trustworthy driver. The other driver is fair. Cant keep anyone in truck #3. I can guarantee you will never find someone like driver #1 or #2 it isn't going to happen for the peanuts you'll be paying. The driver you get wont care about anything, thats just how 99% of them think. Also, there is a very steep learning curve in this business that can be very unforgiving for a new o/o that is hands on doing everything himself. If you came on here and said you were wanting to do this and drive I might think it was ok. You are wanting expecting to make money here off some sad sack of another person driving your truck. Sorry its not what you want to hear but its reality. You are about to make the biggest most costly mistake of your life.
