    Hi all,

Just joined and thought I would say hi. Just for the record, I am not currently a driver, but many years ago I did drive reefer and van. Boy, I can tell you that things have really changed. Some for the better, some for the worst.

I work for a small trucking company out of New York. He owns 7 trucks and dispatches a few. He also brokers a few loads. I hope to find a few O/O to dispatch myself.

I joined to get the new scoop on what was happening in the trucking world and one of the first things I see is Arrow closing down and drivers abandoned everywhere, breaks my heart!

I have enjoyed looking through the posts and seeing what is what in the world today. I hope to read and post here from time to time.

    Anyways
    Merry Christmas!

    JustSonny Thanks this.

Welcome! What do you do now? I know Bath isn't exactly the busiest place on Earth.

I am the paperwork person, I get everything ready for audits, I do the looking for new drivers and people to lease on. I make sure logs are correct when they come in. I make the policies that the drivers have to adhere to. I send out the saftey quiz each month.

We just got audited and so I have to write the compliance letters and give the outline of what we are doing to make sure logs and paperwork are correct. I do the collections. (kind of to toot my own horn, but I just collected over $60,000.00 due my employer from 2 brokers who 6 months behind in payments!!!)

I guess I am the girl Friday and now I am looking for O/O to disapatch on my own. I will find the best rates that I can and hopefully I will have about 10 drivers lined up to move. With rates waay below a broker, I hope to have lots of drivers to move.

I just moved here 2 months ago so I have very busy settling in and getting acclimated to New York weather, but I must say I LOVE it here!

    Thanks for the welcome!:yes2557:

:biggrin_25515:I love Bath. Because of living where I do, towards Jamestown , 1/2 hour from home, we would always stop at Bath pilot or the other one across the street. It kinda felt like home. my fav truck stops in a way!

Yeah the Bath Pilot always has PARKING! LOL.

I also like going up the southern tier when I have work in Buffalo/Rochester.

Too bad my company has a fuel contract with T/A, I really do prefer Pilots.
