On a 6NZ CAT, which is the correct filter housing port to install the pressure sensor? There is two on the front end of the housing, smaller one on top and larger one 90* on the side. The top one has a gasket sealed plug with allen head. The sensor is NPT, not sure if it'll seal there or not.

I took the oem cat quick cupper out and got the local parts store to make me a quater inch hydraulic hose to connect to the bulk head fitting that I bought from them to go through the firewall.

The proper place I was told was on my truck above the pressre regulater its a allen plug oring fitting
I still have it pm your address and I ship it to you to get it out of my sight.

I have a teltek electric gauge with a sending unit. I'd rather leave the test fitting alone for later use.

What is it that you have exactly?

It is a oring to one eight'th npt thread adapter I think, unless it may be quarter inch npt thread I would have to look.
It is in my box of useless truck parts.

I got it from cedar rapids ia kw Rick the guy behind the parts counter is very good he can get all your normal little parts with out your vin and he never gotten me the wrong part yet :) I don't deal with any of the others behind counter if I can help it.

Back to the gauge I got the oem gauge witch is mechanical and plumb it up so it would match the rest in the dash and look like a factory install.

When I was getting hose made up I put the oring fitting on instead of npt and useing the adapter.

That sounds like what I need then for sure. I'll send you a PM.

I don't know if the local CAT dealer could find it easily or not. I would suspect not. I am putting my teltek gauges in a separate pod as I've run out of room on the dash. I have 17 factory style gauges and am installing a few more. :)

I'm surprized why no aftermarket instrumental clusters on market. All J1939 and J1708 data are of the same standard and I'd like to get LCD screens, like in new planes and no gauges. More flexibility, easy to install in any truck! As connection Deutch diagniostic connector may be easily used ore any CAN wires.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to completely replace "company driver" gauges with "owner operator" gauges?

The the fitting on top of the filter housing is where I put mine, it is 1/8" NPT, I didn't even have to use the o-ring when I installed mine, it sealed without it. My gauge is a autometer with electronic sender.
