I use a car TomTom for redundancy. I plan trips with a road atlas and directions provided by the company via Quallcom....and google maps on my iPhone.

    the TomTom was free...:yes2557:

The directions that you get on your QUALCOMM are just directions that somebody send in. Like get off at exit 12 go to Jackson Road turn left plant on right side. I myself like the Randy Nally truck GPS but like Jim said it's just a tool I would say it is correct 98% of the time the other 2% get yourself into big trouble. Worst the worst call it 1970s trucking I call the customer and say I'll be heading in on sets such a highway what would be the best way to get get to your plant. But make sure you talk to somebody in shipping or receiving. The receptionist that answered the phone might give you directions that are fine for her and her car but not for a truck.

i know the interstate driving is the easy part.......whats got me concerned is once you get off that ramp and get close to the destination....how hard are they to get to...like REAL close 2 lane streets....cars parked on both sides...that sort of thing

maybe one time outta ten a shipper or receiver will be tough to get into, not counting tight docks. Then there's those god awful "jobsite" drops.... lol!

We goto the northeast a lot???? Ive been here 8yrs and have had few loads offered to me goin that direction. I know Maverick does run up there but they try to keep the RAT drivers on them. The other division that runs there a lot is the glass division. If you run US division you nay see the occasional northeast run but not much especially living in western Tennessee. I agree with the others GPS is a tool and shouldnt be relied solely upon or it WILL burn your butt.

Hey Tarps, seeing as you are from west KY., how often does Maverick get through Nashville — where I'm from? I'm waiting on approval of my app. I should know something this week.

Does Maverick's e-logs have a line five for Off Duty Driving? I know some compaines have this option with their e-logs. Would have certainly helped out that lost driver find a safe place to park.

No line 5 however you can make a notation in log if something happens causing you to exceed your hours. Living in Nashville you are in a good area. We deliver to Murfreesboro quite a bit and pickup in Cumberland City and Dickson a lot.
