Yep, can't trust a co. hand with such a precious tool.

I can see insurance reasons being the factor why company drivers don't have a line 5, other than that it was a reg misinterpetation. No two companies have the same procedures regarding off duty driving, which doesn't make any sense. As long as you're legal that should be all that matters.Last edited: Oct 3, 2011

ya, what is the rule for driving your truck around bobtail. It's a personal vehicle at that point isn't it. Don't have to be on the drive line, do you?
-
..I really don't know how people can drive down the road limited to 62mph. That's almost a hazard in states with 70+ speed limits..

That would be "Mr. Obvious"...
Made famous by Chick McGee on the "Bob and Tom show".THBatMan8 Thanks this. -

When your bobtail, your not under dispatch and can use the rig for personal conveyance at that point. Even during a reset or after your 14hr day....
I can reach my 14hr end, be out of hours, drop my trailer and then head over to the mall if I so want. I do NOT have to sit in a truck stop until I earn more hours back.
I say that as an O/O. Many company drivers are under company rules (not FMCSA) and if the company dictates you do not take the tractor
then that's the way it is.Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
