:naka:Welcome aboard. The Dollar General acct will keep you close to home, but, you will experience tight and small parking lots to get into/out of. Something to think about plus roller unload.

What would you like to know, and it is not a roller unload. Dollar general Loads are done with Roll-Tainers and there is over stock that is loaded above the roll tainers too, that is unloaded by hand with what the call u-boats. There is a hydro lift gate on the back of the truck, but sometimes you will not use it.

The DC is in Jonesville, SC. a good 20 miles off the highway, so city driving to get to and from the interstate. A lot of the stores are in somewhat remote locations. You will have all sort of ways that you will need to figure out how to get in and out of the store. You may have to pull your tandems all the way forward to get into a store and then push them all the way back to get out.

You could be running from the DC to SC, GA, NC, VA, KY, TN, and AL. Most days you will get a loaded trailer from the DC in the afternoon, then run to the first store for the first delivery in the morning, then the second store would not be far from where you are. Get all the stops done then run back to the DC for another trailer.

It is not the nicest showers in the world, but you can get a free shower at the DC in Jonesville.

If you go to do this, DO NOT allow them to send you out on a Dollar Tree account to train on. It is NOT THE SAME!!!! Dollar Tree accounts you hand unload every box and use rollers. You touch every box.

    Hope this helps

    DenaliDad and mtnMoma Thank this.

You can call USX and talk to them about the dedicated accounts up there. I have no done any running up there, but I would think that it would be the same as Jonesville, SC.

Just had friend quit the Dollar Tree acct. in the NE after a month.Fingerprinting every piece every day,and bringing home 400.00 a week.He is in a previously leased truck, with lots of damage, went for PM ,and now they are charging him for an accident he didn't have because the fuel tank is dented on the underside,(his fault for not climbing underneath when issued the truck).

The DT account is not for everyone. I would have to say it is a young mans game. 400 a week does not sound right at all for that account either. I had heard 900 to 1000 gross a week for the DT account.

I personally would not do the Dollar Tree, or the Dollar General account.
