I'm based in the South Texas area, but don't get back to this area much except for going home.
Got a load from VA down to Corpus Christi, TX.
The only truck stop that I was able to find actually in Corpus Christi with my little book is a ####-hole to say the least.
It might hold 30 trucks on a good day. #### near lost my whole truck in the holes in the parking lot. After using the bathroom, I can honestly say it is the nastiest truck stop I have ever visited. This is after I got MRSA at a truck stop in New Jersey and had to put myself in a hospital in Ohio after that.
It is located off of I-37 at exit 3A. Only has two fuel islands, almost zero normal truck stop stuff.
But, and I know I will get flamed for this, awesome Tex-Mex food from the restaurant there.
One can only really appreciate really, really good Tex-Mex if you have ever lived in south Texas. Had the cheese enchiladas tonight. #### good. I will be trying a couple of breakfast tacos in the morning before unloading just down the street.
Hopefully I will still be alive after that to give you an update.

So basically what you are saying the place is in the gutter including bathrooms but the food is bomb, well I think the fact that the cooks don't wash their hands holds the flavor in the food longer and longer as they finger taste and mix the mashed potatoes with their bare hands you get that athuentic Tex-Mex flavor. YUMMY!

thats just so wrong on so many levels.

Still better than the old truckstop in downtown Laredo!

Isn't there a Love's on the south side of town? Maybe I'm thinking of Kingsville...??

Nasty restrooms, funky parking lot, filthy fuel island, but the kitchen is sparkling clean...........

The old TS in Laredo and the one in Corpus he is talking about were about the same to me the times I was there.

I'm parked at this truckstop waiting for a 1pm drop at Coca-cola. To call this place a dive is being generous. It looks like the whole floor of the restaurant is caving in! I might try the restaurant though, it did smell good in there.
