US Express or Conway Truckload

You will get a lot of "helpful" insights on both,,,I would weigh only insights from people that are actually employed by both of your choices,former employees will usually give you only the negative

As for Conway its a great place to start out,they will make sure you are taken care of,great equipment,facilities,,,

Also remember this is the 4th quarter,freight is slowing down,so anyone "saying" what kind of miles you WILLreceive,well take it in stride

Whatever choice you make Im sure it will work for you just because where you live,,Good Luck!

 

@ ECU51 I would have thought that freight right now would be a good time with the holidays coming up?
I remember(80s/90s) being very busy up until around the end of December(lots of OT). But I also worked in a major trucking area

That used to be the case,,But the "forecasted freight index" is at a minus for the last qtr of 2011,recession has durable goods orders at even or minus for the year,customers dont want the extra stocks to be taxed so they are not ordering as much,,,they know if they need to move freight,all the carriers have undeminished capacity to do it

 

Go with Conway, Trust me. I have worked for both. US Xpress does not tell you until in orientation they pay you on a sliding scale. Conway was one of the better companies I have worked for as a company driver.
