Really, when I bypass the governor it's for the entire trip, from 65mph to whatever she will run. Take it UP TO 65mph, who do you drive for ?

I bet everybody in your company meetings got really excited when they announced that you could take it up to 65mph.:biggrin_2551: lol

And check this out, turning a 65 mph truck up to 75 or 85 got us a fuel bonus too, couldn't do that when they were turned down unless we cheated. :yes2557:

Point taken however I'm a tanker hand and must fly the placard loaded or empty by law. Same rules apply to me laden or not so I cannot take my wagon with me.

    THBatMan8 Thanks this.

Yes, as even empty the fumes can create hazards. I'm not pulling a tanker. I'm pulling a reefer.

    I drive for England.

Our trucks are governed to 62 with the cruise control on. You can take it up to 65, but only for a short time. After a while the governor will start to derate the engine if you don't take it back to 62.

Although I have taken a England truck to 80 a few times. :biggrin_25521:

Why go slow? If there's a fuel bonus to be had then hammer down, calculate and slip a $20 in the tank as needed. Have the best of both worlds....
