I have been here for 6 months and have only taken 1 restart on the road.

Waiting for my appointment at Coca Cola in Chicago. I was kinda worried about the route there coz all that low bridges here and I was in Chicago only one time before with Stevens and that was still with a trainer.
But I called the DOT route assistance number and they were very nice and helpful.
I could've drive here in the morning coz the receiver had really nice parking where I could stay. But I thought in Monday morning it'll be hell to try to get here. Can't afford to burn my hours in traffic. So now I've got to be worried only to get outta here.
I deliver Tuesday morning in Lenexa which will round up my miles for my first paycheck to wonderful 4850 miles.
I can go home now. ;)

Awesome, yeah I am empty in Houston but no load yet. But that's ok I only have 7 hours left today and only get 1hour and 5 minutes back at midnight. My total for the week is around 4200 but last week it was only around 1800.but it all averages out. Glad to hear you are doing good.

    How come only 1800? Hometime?

I'm sitting in Emporia now and waiting for my ticket home.
The load delivers Friday and Saturday (2 drops) but I can be at my 1st drop Thursday morning. Maybe I could drop it in Zephyrhills?! I'd hate to waste a perfectly good day so close to home.

You should ask if you can drop it, they are usually pretty good about that there.

No not home time, just the way the loads fell for the pay cut off. But it all averages out. I would ask them about dropping it on the yard.

I did. They don't want to do that. Jacksonville is too far out of route. But I've got even better idea. I'll make the first drop a day early, then will have to take break in Jax somewhere then I'll go to the yard, park it and go home. I'll be home Friday, then I'll go and deliver Saturday morning and then go home again and then I'll take my 2 days and back on the road Tuesday.
    Ain't I a genius? LOL

BTW, I drove from Emporia to Antioch, Tn (685 miles) so I can make that first drop early. and yes, they'll take me.

Welcome, Welcome Kokot. I used to write here a lot, but stopped for awhile! Good to see that you are so excited about Heyl. I've been here for 6 years now. The people you met at Zephyrhills are just like the people that will be at all the terminals. Everyone knows you by name, and are always friendly! That is why I am still here after all these years. There are weeks when you can get 3500+ miles a week, and others not more than 2500 miles. But they don't want to let you sit a lot. Sometimes you might get stuck with a few bad loads in a row. But you never know what the next load will be. As I have said before, but I lilke about Heyl is that if there is something wrong with your truck, just let them know and they will get it fixed on the road if necessary, or get you routed to the shop.
I was worried the post was going to die out, didn't keep up with my weekly stuff, I guess I can keep writing about how everything is going.
