Miles

I'm only just into my 2nd month. My first week was 45miles of course i was sitting at orientation for 4 days that week. Second around 300 with a GM Holiday weekend delivery that couldnt deliver until tuesday and a few days home time. after that 2400, 3000, a crappy 800 (avoid GP - zachary, la if possible), and this weeks looking to be decent 2700+ when i deliver in the morning already. Most of my loads have been between 600 - 1700. The longer being loads going into texas (laredo/huston)

My DM told me everything was on the trip planners and out of his control. Now my trainer was always on the phone and getting the loads he wanted so.... Maybe that will come with time

 

Be happy you are averaging 2000 miles a week and any driver that says he averages 3000 is full off it unless they have a mechanic that rides along with them and fixes there truck on there 10 hour break for them. With hometime, break downs, weekends and everything else i don't see any one averaging 3000k a week.

Since you live in ohio is your dm out of north jackson or is your dm out of arkansas.
I been with them for a year and i averaged out at 2000 to 2500 a week for the year and you can get decent miles with short trips its all about your dm and how you set yourself up, I hardly every got trips over 600 to 700 unless they where going to and from laredo.

I average just shy of 2500 miles per week, home every night, and off every weekend. 500 miles * 5 days = 2500 miles/week.

3000 miles a week is 600 miles per day in 5 days, or 500 miles per day in 6 days. If you can't do that, there really isn't any reason to be out over the road...you're spending more time sitting around than you are working & making money.

...and if your truck is breaking down THAT often that you need a mechanic riding along with you to fix it each night, either you need to find a company that runs decent equipment (if it's an equipment issue) or you need to reflect upon your treatment of the equipment to perhaps keep from tearing it up as often (if it's a driver abuse issue).

I would be raising hell with dispatch if I was out 2-3 weeks at a time and only getting 2000-2500 miles per week...and I'd be a thorn in dispatch's side if I was only getting 2500-3000 miles per week OTR. When I am on the road, I'm on the road to WORK....not sit around at truck stops waiting for a dispatch. That sitting around is the reason I quit driving OTR and went to driving local/regional. When I get empty, if they don't have anything else for me to do, I go home. I don't mind sitting around waiting for a dispatch at the house....I have plenty to do here to keep me occupied.

Just got off hometime Monday and with my current load delivering this afternoon I'll have 2485 miles. These are all solo miles. I've gotten 1400 mile loads on weekends, much less for an entire week. I'd have a serious discussion with your DM.

 

I've had several 800 miles loads this week. I think my total this week will be approx 3600.
