i feel embrassed asking this question but i got a T660 and im trying to install two new whips (the hustlers i inquired about in a previous thread) but everytime i start screwing the antenna down in to the the coax, the coax starts to turn along with the antenna... i tried using an wrench and pliers to hold the coax in place while tightening the antenna but that didnt work.... is it something im doing wrong hear?? or should i just swallow my pride and just take it to an professional... and by the way the stud is an standard truck spec sold at your pilots and flying j's....

I guess I don't understand what the problem is. The plastic washer should be on top of the bracket. Hold the hex nut under the bracket with a wrench, tighten the nut above the plastic washer. Be careful not to over tighten and ruin the plastic washer. When screwing in antenna, hold the nut above the plastic washer so it won't turn and tighten the antenna into the nut.
Does this help? -
yeah i was missing the plastic washer, all is well... appreciate the help
-
Missing?? I hope you didn't key up the mic with it like that. that could be BAD for the radio's life span.

no sir...once i couldn't correct that problem i put the factory whips back on..... i corrected and everything fine with the current setup i have now..
