Trucking and time off?

Mavericks avg for newbies without a CDL is over $52.500 their 1st year. With weekends home for most drivers.

 

I had a Class B CDL for several years. I had to take a DOT physical every year. I say this because after my second child was born I went on prozac for post partum depression . I told the Dr. that I was on it why and for how long. It was no problem. I know of another driver that is on the same thing you were on and it was not an issue. In my limited experience this should not be a problem.

Brickman, I totally agree with you. I applied online with them yesterday, but don't know, I'm out of there hiring area it seems. But I figure might as well try. From what I've read I would like to work for them runing coast to coast if possible. Seems like they pull alot of carpet out of Georgia all across the country. Maybe if they see I'm a super trucker they'll hire me.

 

I applied online with Maverick yesterday also, but looks like I may be about 80 miles to far south. Hopefully they'll consider me. I would like to find a company that I actually do more then just sit there all day. I know that sounds nuts, but I've been able to do that for 7 years now and getting bored. Need some hard work to make me feel young again. I'm really not pulling your leg, I wouldn't mind tarping and unloading some times.

 

Yeah that's a little bit to far to commute back and forth. I'm south of Jacksonville, FL by 75-80 miles. Dalton's north of Atlanta I would spend 8 hours each way getting any TAH. Hopefully they have some carpet or funiture runs here in Floirda. I would be happy just getting home every 4-5 weeks.

 

If you are a company driver most company's if not all pay for the deadhead miles at the same rate as loaded.
