Give Bruce Oakley out of N. Little Rock a look. Starting my 3rd year there. 100% O/O, all miles paid, no trailer rental, paid plates, permits, tolls. Can be dirty work, but good consistent miles.
good 1st company to lease on with?

yep, that's me. when flatbed went to #### I went to Oakley, they were my plan B. Been doing fine, and I recommend them.

90 cpm is a slave wage... you will have little chance to make it work IMHO.
It costs around 85 cpm (give or take) just to run the truck down the road... are you willing to work for a nickel a mile?
Mercer is the best out there IF they will take you... forget the big carriers and find a smaller outfit that will know your name and help you along... they ARE out there. -
.90 cpm is crap, I agree. My 2010 per mile rate at Oakley was 1.47 with paid plates, permits, tolls and an excellent fuel discount program; btw, that's all miles paid, loaded and empty with 124K miles.

I pull a 40ft dump trailer. We also have pneumatics, but they get paid more; approximately .08 a mile.
I asked last year what the mpg fleet avg was: 5.5; mine was approx 6.3 (haven't figured it out yet for the year).SHC Thanks this. -
Talk to my husband... name is bigbadbill on this forum. Tell him Lauren said to talk with him.
SHC, rollin coal and BigBadBill Thank this. -
Welcome Lauren! Good to hear from the one that keeps Bill in line. -
Look at American Transport or one of the other companies under the Transport Investments. Its a straight deal with no BS and no mileage crap . They are strict about who they hire and are recommended by the OOIDA. I work for American Transport and do good with them.
