Their trucks are slower than cold honey I'll give you that. What I wouldn't give for 2 more MPH.

But I have to tell ya, Love you big ole fast guys in your beat up Pete rollin up my arse and eventually passing me. You must pass me 3 or 4 times in an hour. Seems like you all gotta pee every 20 minutes. It sems like all you know how to do is drive fast,can't back,can't properly switch lanes. Honestly where did you learn to drive? Did daddy drive like turd too?

OK, back to the OP. Seems like everyone hates the big companies but it seems they all come running back when their "buddy" lets them go and they need a real job again. I hear the stories all the time,sad but true.

Then you get the losers in the truckstop that been sitting for 48 hours with no load, no shower, wearing flip flops and pajama bottoms and gonna laugh at me for wearing a safety vest. I mean get real, is this 8th grade?

Sometimes I hate working for J.B. Hunt: Sitting home right now after sleeping in my own bed. Man it sucks. Don't have to be back until 6am Monday, what am I gonna do? Guess I'll hang with the kids and go shopping with the wife. On track to make about 52 grand this year working Monday through Friday.

O and another thing about this company. We have a website with large discounts on everything from cars and computers to memberships at gyms and online colleges. I bet you guys that work for your " buddy " with his 3 trucks don't have that.

 

Where I from jb advertises local work home every night and regional home every weekend then you fill out app and call them. They say all spots are full for local. How bout over the road or regional with regional your home time is a 34hr. Then you turn it all down and they call you non stop for months.

 

Glad to hear that you like the company, I start driving school on Monday and JB Hunt was one of the companies that I was looking at.

 

Well I got lucky. They built a DC for the Home Depot account here in Pittston PA last year and I jumped on board when they started it up. They advertised .34 cpm but told me on day 1 it went up to .36 cpm. then about 8 months in it bumped to .38cpm due to lack of hiring. Been with them for about 15 months now at .39 cpm plus $8.00 drop pay and $16.00 hour detention starting as soon as you bump the dock. They also give you $35.00 for crossing the NYC border. We don't actually do NYC, just Long Island but that scares most guys away.

I'm not that into the company, I'm much more into the account. The way this account is set up works for me. J.B. has tons of accounts all offering something diffferent. Some accounts make you unload, others pay better/worse. I also do not hear too many good things from the OTR guys. Lack of miles mostly. I'm glad to hear you are joing, don't forget that if you do not like what you are doing feel free to see if there is anything else going on in your area before quitting. I know several drivers that did not like the account and swithched to other accounts.
