    hey people, just joined up, am thinking about a career in trucking and thought this would be a good place to start getting feedback from experienced drivers.

    HI Rick,

    Welcome, talk with truckers on this site and do the research on the companies that sound good to you. A lot of companies will train you at their site, but you sign a contract to work for them or pay them back for the training. I think that it is better to pay for your training and go through an independant driving school, then you can look at what all companies that hire student drivers will offer. Just a thought!

    thanks for the advice, that would be the way i'd like to go but if i can find a company with a decent pay scale that provides training i may have to go that rout.
