Regarding Maverick drivers waiting weeks or even months to be accepted as you stated earlier.
You are correct in that they aren't brought on immediately. I was just accepted by Maverick last week (9/29/11) and it was about a three week process.
Having been through the hiring process with C.R. England and P.A.M. what I learned is that Maverick doesn't bring drivers in straight away and then do the background work on the potential hire. They do all of the background checks, etc. prior to bring drivers in.
No sense wasting money bringing in a potential driver whose paper work isn't in order or has perhaps lied on his/her application.
Each recruiter is allowed to bring in three students per class, per week. I was No. 4 on my recruiters list, so I wasn't able to make it to Little rock this Sat., so I am on the top of the list for next week.
All in all, about a months wait ' and I don't have a problem with that to get with such a professional organization!
