LMMFAO at that list, aren't most of those the companies that people have the most complaints about?

First of all if you truly worked for all of the top ten carriers in one life time I doubt that you are an employee worth keeping on payroll. You made yourself expendable for the very things you accuse the carriers of: they want more money, they don't care, etc., etc. With a fence jumper like yourself why would they are should they. I wouldn't hire you to drive a tractor down on the farm; you have no loyalty, a lousy attitude and more opinions than common sense.

So he's a fence jumper, he picks bottom feeder companies and calls them top 10, and he's worked for even more than the ones listed.

Thats good. I'm just saying that the norm, usually don't stay with their first company. There's always exceptions to the rule.

So if I think I deserve to make a profit beyond taxes, child support, and insurance premiums, I'm a bad employee? I can't seem to get it through the skulls of the people I work for that I need to gross close to $1000/wk just to keep my nose above water. I'm not even asking for the whole head. Moral of the story is: With freight wavering all over the place, it's impossible to make a living out of this mess anymore. I used to love this job, now I HATE it.

From what I have seen around NC a clean license with hazmat tank and doubles endorsements, twic card and many years of experience gets you squat.
Your lucky to get a job that pays you over 500-600/wk, and most are seasonal.
I'm questioning if it's really worth it.
I have seen class B jobs paying this much and they are M-F, occasional weekend work.

Either get a job that pays more, or cut your spending. Its not the employers job to look at you budget and make sure their paying you enough.

That's the problem in this country. Everybody livig beyond their means. Including the Government.

Everyone at my work are 'dumb-founded' when I say "For the love of God....please don't make me work over-time".
They all WANT over-time.....they all BEG for over-time.....they all milk that clock, and screw off as much as humanly possible to GET over-time.
Not me....I can run my household just fine on the standard 40 hour week (as should we all).
When they freak out on me; I just explain to them, that if I want to LIVE at work....I would go back over-the-road, and drive a decent truck, and pull decent trailers, and bump one dock a day (or every other day) instead of 20.

I mean; ain't that why they came up with 40 hours as being the standard? No; I'm not talking about OTR. So that employers wouldn't be able to take advantage of us too much.

You realize, that in America, we "usually" earn 1 week paid vacation for one year service, two for two, etc....
Well; in Europe, it is my understanding that they get one MONTH, two MONTHS etc....what did WE do wrong? Greed! Debt! Stupidity!
True dat! It is OUR jobs to live within our means. My Grandpa tought me growing up, "If you need it, pay cash for it....if you don't have the cash for it, come to me....if I don't have the cash for it, you don't need it." That was EXCELLENT advice, and I passed it on to my kids too.

Of course 'homes' are a little different...but everything else can be achieved with cash. Self control is the secret.
