The best you can hope for on the prairies is .43 cpm running super B. Most will only pay .34-.39 cpm on a 53 foot deck or box.
For someone starting out I would imagine it would be far less. Maybe .28-.32 cpm. I won't work for less then .39, I've been on the road to long to work for less.

Check into Challenger Motor Freight. They have a yard somewhere in the Vancouver area, Have a new driver mentor program and pay is decent for a new driver with good miles.
They are a big company and because of that you will get conflicting stories on them. I started out with them in 2007 and I'm glad I did. I gained some very valuable experience and never really had a problem with anyone there. I ran team for 3 months and solo for 6 more before moving on to a better paying job. Now that I'm out of debt I'm thinking of going back even though the money is not as good as I currently make because I really did enjoy my time there -
Where did you work for Challenger?

Dallas Transport out of Portage la Prairie will give a new guy a shot. Not sure what the starting pay is for someone just starting, but I was getting good money. .44 for normal loads and .49 for OD, also paid to secure and un-secure plus tarps. It all adds up. Unfortunately an old injury came back so I had to go back to Vans. If your just starting out then give them a call.

I was based out of Cambridge, ON.
When I drove team pretty much all my runs started with a run to the yard in Delta, BC -
Stay away from Buckley Cartage...they lie to you constantly and ##### you outta money on every pay!!!!!!!!!

Challenger for Vancouver is in Aldergrove, on 264th just south of the zoo. My buddy runs for Berry & Smith and says he's making good $$ there (o/o).
