So many people have infiltrated this industry who are dope smokers or some kind of drug user it ain't funny. I for one am glad they are doing it, haor testing and ten yer bk checks. I say thank you for making it harder for these people to give us a bad name.

I am glad a lot of these types of rules are coming in to place.
They make be more sought out by a company. This means more pay, nicer equipment, and they kiss my aaz more to stay when I ##### :)

Here are some things that have helped me keep my job and stop someone from taking it who is willing to do it for less cause they have no choice.
/SS number. Can't get a cdl with out it. (correct me if I'm wrong)
/TWIC card. This alone as clean out some many losers from the ports it aint funny.
/HAZMAT. Same bk ck as a twic. This has cleaned up a lot of losers of the roads also.
/Hair testing. Goes back one year! I know once I tell guys we hair test they don't even wanna ask anything else.
/Passport to go in to Canada. Instant better pay.
/Physical that makes you climb, lift and move in certian positions. If your to big you ain't passing. And I don';t mean chubby. I mean you can't get put the truck with out it taking 5 min.
/No dui/dwi insurance. If you go one you ain't driving for anyone who pays well. No one wants to deal with the huge insurance and pay you anything.
/DAC. This is awesome. If you like you not control yourself and burn bridges, abandon trucks and trailers, or fight with others then....well...you will eventually be gone and unemployed as far as this industry goes.
/EOBRs. I hate them but been using one for 2 years now and you just need to plan ahead 1 hour and if you can't do that, you shouldn't be driving.

I know some of you will say I don't want big bro riding me like this. And some may bash me. But if your good in the above categories and have some heavy haul, flat bed, refier, oversize, or any other experience to ad to that and two years otr...you can get a job making 60k a year. And I bet that will go up in the next two years. Cause they are having a harder and harder time hiring quality, insurable, and clean drivers who don't cruse every other word.

I'm just curious how do you guys feel about the industry changes.....For conversations sake. Cause I'm bored at home.

Just for the record. I don't agree with the emissions rules. So I don't agree with ALL the new stuff.

I think you are wrong, the fact that you are a nice clean non pot smokin, shower takin skinny boy means nothing to 99 percent of companies out there, only time it would matter would be if they are riding with you and they are not.

You like DAC, you won't see it's not for the bridge burners it's for you too. When you go to quit even with 2 weeks notice and return the truck in better condition then when you got it, they will still put something negitive on your report to prevent you from getting another job, just the way it is and besides the best companies out there do not use dac only the deceitful and dishonest ones do.

If you think all of these new rules will have all drivers looking like they drive for UPS your crazy. Fat truck drivers are some of the best know why, they have to do it right the first time otherwise they will have to get out of the truck.

Also you might look very professional but if your truck looks like a run down piece of garbage which is most of them out there, your image is still trash. You will eventually learn that these rules are nothing more than money makers for the dot and to make it easy for your company to get rid of you, they will do nothing to enhance the tarnished image we as truckers have had for years.

Thanks but I ain't no were near skinny. I wear size 40 pants and am 6'1 :biggrin_25514: But thanks. As for the pot I will not incriminate my self by talking about me teenage years of the early 90's.

The dac: I haven't had any experience with that other then a place I worked for one month back in 2003. They sure were shady. I quit a month in and they put that down on the dac. They even said rehire-able. They lied and I caught the recruiter lieing. SO, I called him out and said I'm done. That was the only interaction I had with DAC so you may be right on that one. I'll give you that.

Fat ones are the best cause they do it right the first time? LMAO!!!! I love that response.

I disagree. I think they are cleaning up the place. Slowly but steadily. BUT with that said I do agree 100% with your comment that companies use this rule to fire people as they see fit and with out real reason other then something they cheery picked from the rule book. Thats I don't see as fair. But I think that's cause the company is a pos not the rules that are implemented. I am state that I agree with the new rules. NOT the way companies use them.

The ones that have been implemented in the last 5 years or so. Most recent the CSA enforcement and the eobr the companies are putting in to place. And my favorite, the hair testing....

CSA>big friggin' deal, it will be a failure the way it's structured

EOBR>no rules about them being mandatory. Don't like it there lots of carriers NOT using them.

Hair follicle testing>big friggin' deal. Quit smoking dope and sticking needles in your arm.

I haven't seen anything that has changed. Insurance has more effect than the scores.

I'm for everything but the DAC and CSA score. Both of them are too subjective and from what I've known/seen they're used more to threaten and punish. I don't trust cops or trucking co's to do what is in my best interest or in the very least, what is fair.
