It's the weekend (not for much longer) and the weekend means you have the Z team on. And they aren't the most responsive bunch.
Like I said, he doesn't need the internet to be an arse...it's second nature to him, maybe even first nature. (I say this and I'm the one married to him).

Fuel... sending a macro 27 with your fuel level indicated will get you a new fuel solution and authorized fuel stop. Works every once every 24 hours... otherwise call the fuel desk. They'll usually authorize up to 30 gallons on the company side without a fuss if you can't make it to the next fuel route stop.

If you have trouble getting your comdata card to work, call the fuel desk - they can fix those problems faster than the clerk at the truckstop fuel desk.
Its always a good idea to refresh your fuel stops every 24 or 48 hours on longer trips because of the volatility of fuel prices - unless you really like where you're going to be getting fuel at.
You can also write a comcheck against your advance ballance on your comdata card for a cash fuel purchase - just enter the stop on your scan sheet the way you normally would, but you'll need to get a PO using macro 10 for a cash (or check) fuel purchase. This also works for filling your reefer tank before you drop a trailer at an out-of-network fuel stop. You'll be reimbursed on your next settlement. Its also a good idea to think about the timing on your fuel purchases a little... the cards are locked to prevent more than two purchases within a couple of hours.
Don't forget to get some Howe's Anti Gel with the cold weather coming on... you'll need to buy it as an additive when you purchase fuel. You can usually buy two additive items per fuel purchase. My DD15 gets picky below freezing, so its best to get a bottle or two before it gets cold.scottied67 Thanks this. -
TWELVE hours between macro 27s. If you forget and send one early, a message will kick back saying "Early Request" and give you the time when you can send one.
On the 27 ignore filling in everything else except the fuel gauge marking... The computer already knows your avg MPG and tank size etc..
The only thing you might use is routing thru a city... lets say you are picking a load up in WA and it is going to FL, however you are taking it to Springfield Terminal to drop (someone else is finishing the load) You would enter SPRI in the city and MO in the state... the computer will route your fuel stops and directions in the apropriate direction thru Springfield... otherwise the computer wont send you anywhere close to Springfield, same with the fuel stops. In your fuel book there is a whole section on City/State abbreviations that are used in this case.
Macro 27 fuel routing isnt the same as Macro 15.... Macro 15 takes your fuel stops out of the equation (and usually keeps toll roads in the equation)
Each time/day you run the Macro 27, note that the route sometimes changes and fuel stops do too based on your fuel usage and pump prices... Example, yesterday morning my route was to go thru Wheeling WV after I picked up my load and then up thru mid Ohio... I ran one last night as I was rolling and it changed my route to fuel in Breezewood PA then past Pittsburgh up into Upper Ohio.
Company drivers are supposed to follow Macro 27 routing and usually require your FM approval to change route. It is still your responsibility to check you atlas to make sure the roads are legal for your truck to be on, and bridge height restrictions...
By the way, you should have got a fuel book from lineup when you left the terminal... Read it. There is alot of info in it... And specifically there is a page that describes how to do all of this. -
Every 12 eh? Never got in enough fuel trouble to really play with it.
-
thanks , when i got back to the truck all the responces i needed was waiting.

You have an old Qualcomm or a new one? If the old..... I'm pretty sure that cord will reach the highway..... just a thought

When I was a company driver (5 years ago), the only way it would let you do a route thru, was if your fleet manager had opened up your fuel card for that trip to fuel anywhere. Has that changed?
