So as far as the trucks go... They just assign you what ever they have. But these are what they have. In the Ultralights. International Eagle. International Prostar but only 10 So Far. Freightliner Cascadia, And can't remember the other FL Ultralight Blew that one in 20,000 Miles. Small little Peterbuilt 379.. If you are stuck in an U/L Hope you dont get the Pete. K for head room from best to worst. International Both, Cascadia, Then other freightliner, Than Pete. I believe 6'4" for International, and 5' for Pete. Full size trucks are... Freightliner Century "for a little while longer" Cascadia's, Peterbuilt 389, 387, Kenworth "only a few left in fleet" And I think less than 10 International Prostar Mid Roofs "FlatBed or Tank Only" Full size trucks are for Lease and Cdl instructors/Trainers/Teams.. You may get lucky though as a solo and get a full size. Flatbedders get full size. They tryed the U/L and found they seem too stand the nose up when they set a 40,000 Lb coil on the trailer. So they stopped that fast.Might get a mid roof though.. Tankers either mid roof U/L or Full size if Trainer/Team. Reefer drivers get what they get... Hope this helps all!

Are there fridges, microwaves, or tvs supplied in the company driver trucks for the reefer side or do you have to go buy them yourself? Are the trucks wired so that we can run these electric items without idling?

    Please! This is a business!

YOU want a " fridges, microwaves, or tvs" go to Walmart.

All trucks have an inverter that supplys some AC power. You either get up and turn on the truck when you run the batteries down, or have an APU installed that automatically charges the batteries.

So you are saying you have to buy them? I think its a legitimate question seeing as how you live out of the dang thing!

Yes. You have to buy them. And you need to watch the power they suck down. I *THINK* the company trucks are being equipped with APUs.

You have to BUY those things for your own house, too you know. Or when they break. Unless you rent, which I don't. And I like to pretend I live in the house. Up until this May, it was somewhere I got to sleep. If I was lucky. There ARE good things about truck driving. I'm home longer than the 8 hours/day I was home before!

Is it me, or is there a creeping sense of entitlement growing around here?

They are installing APU on all the baby trucks now... some guys are waiting a couple weeks for appointments but they are starting to catch up.

Its simple. If you want to be a company driver, you will take the truck they give you... no choice in the matter, if you dont like it you can lease.

Miles are paid by HHG guide... dont like it, you can lease and take 72 percent of the line haul.

Dont meet the BMI standard, you can decide not take the sleep test and go home to seek employment elsewhere.

TV, Fridge, microwave are not employee rights. Prime equips the trucks with a very decent Watt rated, professionaly installed inverter. Its up to you to provide your "creature comforts" Some companies do not put inverters in trucks, and even have rules preventing you from installing one yourself.

Someone a few months ago was complaining that Prime said theyre trucks were sattellite radio equipped. They are, its up to you to pay for the service... dont like it, the regular radio still works... beats not having one at all.

News flash: Prime doesnt supply sheets, pillows, blankets, ink pens, paper clips, white out, CBs, Road Atlas, Locks, tire gauges, floor mats, carpeting, hangers, printers, scanners, computers, DVDs, cell phones either

Prime has a large pet deposit requirement for pets. Well, up until recently, Company drivers couldnt have pets AT ALL and were fired for doing so... It used to just be L/O that could have pets... dont like it? you know what you can do:biggrin_25521:

My home didn't come with most appliances, I had to buy them. I have to buy the replacements when the ones that are here break. If your truck is your "home away from home" why is it any different? Just sayin'...

Is there a link for the BMI standard? I am suppose to be in Pittston on the 17th and don't want to be sent home. I've jumped thru enough hoops already.
