NOT truck-driving, true. But MOST mechanics have to supply their own tools. Most groomers have to supply AND upkeep their own tools, and pay for blade and scissor sharpening. So, THIS is why the thought of buying your own tools doesn't bother me. I'm familiar with industries where it is required. (And believe me, there were months when the blade guy couldn't get there fast enough. Even if he did charge me $3/set for clipper blades, depending on time of year 10 to 30 sets, $25 to $50 per clipper service x 3 clippers (only if I knew I needed parts that I did not have on hand), and I forget how much he charged for my scissors x 5 or 6 pair of those)

And I did most of the clipper service myself. I can still tear down Andis, Oster and Laube clippers, clean 'em up and regrease 'em. I can fix MOST issues. Monthly services on clippers aren't enough if it's high summer and you are cutting pelts of critters that only loosely resemble dogs until you get that mess off them.

As you can see, I'm used to buying, servicing and paying for repairs on equipment needed to do the job. The thought that you'd need to buy stuff to do your job as a trucker doesn't phase me. Pretty sure I won't have to spend anywhere near what I have invested in grooming stuff, or what JCW had invested in mechanic's tools.

Nah... its just Prime. They found that drivers really take care of their equipment if they have some skin in the game. Its more a deposit really... you get it back if you turn it in.
