I don't know about "drivers dream" but in my opinion you can do worse. Its still a hard job and its still trucking. They do pay you for your time and that's more than a lot of companies do.

    Good luck

Well after I delivered in Channelview I picked up a load the next morning in Kenedy TX going to Oakwood, GA. Dropped it loaded at the Morrow terminal and headed home. Been doing local work since then, went to jax fl once last week. If anyone ever has to load in Kenedy, the directions they give you are good, you have to scale at a feed mill up the street, but dispatch in Houston gave me a little map. It would have been easy to spot without the map as the whole town is basically the plant and that feed mill

This week I've taken a load of silicate to calhoun, tn and am currently on a load of urea to ft. Myers, fl. Tankwashed for quala in Aug though, so I'll be coming right home.

Trucking is what trucking does. Like you said there are worst. Swift is one of them and just left them. First trucking job and they left a bad taste in my mouth. So now I'm only looking to go with companies that are offering IMO the big three of a company truckers dream: Good pay, good home time and good people to work with. From reading your blogs and talking to Larry this seems like a fit for me. I don't care about how hard the work is as long as the rewards are there to back it up. My brother in law driver for 7years and 6 out of those 7years he had a dream job. Dedicated route, 60k+ a year, good home time and treated as a person and not a number. In our field, what more can you ask for, you know?

Hey if they decide to bring me on did you want to get the referral fee for me? I wouldn't have known about them if it wasn't for you.

No job is perfect in this industry but Superior appears to be one of the better choices IMO..

This is the first time I have had to deal with a breakdown at Superior.

My truck blew the turbo today as I was on my way to Minneapolis MN from Kingsport. They asked if I could get it to Markham and I did (was about 90 miles).

I am sitting in a Best Western hotel this afternoon. The guys at Markham claim that they should have it done tomorrow afternoon. I am not holding my breath for that as that turbo has been on there for 500K miles and my bet would be that everything attached to it is going to break when they try to remove it, but what do I know I'm just a driver :biggrin_25525:.

They were quick to get me to the hotel. Within about 15 minutes of my arriving in Markham they were checking out my truck and then about 30 minutes later they had the plan to replace the turbo and send me to the hotel.

Not a bad hotel for a Best Western. It is what it is. A cheap hotel.

I would have liked the miles but that's the way it goes.

That is true Sir. That's why I'm only looking for those better choices. Are jobs are hard enough already to have to deal with a crap company or shall I say crap people because people are what makes a company bad not the company itself.

My truck has had 3 turbos in 3 years. The shop keeps replacing it while its under warranty while I am home. Hasn't left me on the side of the road though (knock on wood)

Be sure and turn in your hours for the break down. You should be paid for all hours dealing directly with it and its like layover pay at the hotel. 15 hrs free pay 8, 10 free, pay 8 etc until you get moving again.

Oh yeah, I will certainly be turning in every minute I have been sitting. Parts didn't come in today either or at least no one let me know. I am in the Hotel tonight again. Hopefully tomorrow they will have me going again. The shop in Markham works until 3:30 then no second shift but they come back in at 11 for a 3rd shift. Not really sure what that is all about.

I am ready to get out of here!! Getting a little stir crazy now.
