I had a interview with sentinel in kenedy a few months ago. The interview went well I was really excited about the chance to work there and thought everything would work out. But they pulled my 10 yr driving record which I admit is pretty rough and decided not to hire me. Seemed like a good company but I will say they contacted my current employer way to soon. I was lucky I didn't get fired over it. I know they pay pretty well and it's probably the most secure oilfield driving job you can find. They are a private carrier for conoco phillips so there no chance of getting underbid or losing contracts.
Great jobs in Texas

Doesn't Nabor s or someone else have a yard almost next door there on 287? You are out past the catfish place-right?
Lot of good info you guys are passing along to these guys and gals.
You ever heard anything about Phillips or any of the others around Weatherford/Willow Park area?. May try and get on if money is good. 15 months in Afghanistan is about enough.Tractor7127 Thanks this. -

Hey Big Duker, I hear ya on the 15 months, I am at month 22 in the big ol sand box and it looks like I will be home around Christmas, Pick up my CDL and head to ND or maybe stick around in Texas and see what I see. Lets keep in touch. Should be about the right time to show up in ND I am thinking. It gets real cold in January out there (I grew up in MN).
Be safe out there brother....Big Duker Thanks this. -
Stilgar, if you wanna work in Texas let me know. I've been able to get a couple folks from here aboard and pocket myself some referral money. You'd be assigned to the Pasadena terminal and working out of Midland or south Texas. Should have an operation up and running by end of year in western OK too...

Yeah they are a joint venture owned by Conoco/Phillips and DuPont strictly for hauling petro/chemicals. I've been waiting on my background checks to come back for a week now, also waiting on backgrounds from Sunoco to come back. The company doing the checks for Sunoco called me on Friday with a quick question but my criminal and work history checks were done and good. I prefer the Sentinel job because it's in an area I would prefer to live in and they also haul fuel coke which is a nice fall back. I really am hoping to hear back from Sentinel this week or I might have to accept another job, I can't be out of work for three weeks. Also received a call today from another carrier looking to hire me on in the Lake Charles LA area. This job was a dry bulk carrier which is something I have a couple of years recent experience with, but the pay is lower and I've already kind of committed to two other companies. I've hard committed to Sentinel and told Sunoco that I was already in process with Sentinel but they wanted to run me through the process too hoping I would change my mind. I really like both companies from what I've seen in the two interviews but I can only work for one. I know there are worse problems to have but I'm stressing on this.jvar4001 Thanks this.

Because of my 10 yr driving record. I've got a couple of tickets and accidents from when I was 17 and 18 but because that was only 7 years ago they still count it against me. They are self insured and can hire who ever they please but at the same time their really anal about safety. I'm sure it would be a great place to work but the safety stuff would get real old.
jvar4001 Thanks this. -
