Ok I went on the Canadian governments website and it says if you are convicted of a crime which they deem puts you on the inadmissible list and the crime is over 5 years old you can apply for a Minister's Approval of Rehabilitation.
You fill out these forms at a Canadian Consulate and you pay a fee. The fee ranges from $200 - $1000 based on the severity of the crime. (or what they feel like charging you) If it is something that I absolutely have to have then ill get it.
I have gone over to the casino in Niagara Falls thinking nothing of it a hundred times with my passport. I thought I was good! Now that you guys told me about this ill probably get checked and turned around now...lol

 

I would think if you have already crossed the border with no problems, you should be good to go, but I think I would want to know for certain. Turning around when you are headed to the casino is a different thing than being turned around with a loaded trailer that someone else will wind up having to repower.

 

Yeah im aware of that. If the company tells me i wont be going to Canada then I wont get it. If they say I will be then I will get it.

 

reptij. Sounds like you got the scoop re Canadian crossing. Give the Consulate a call and get a price on the cost for your papers. In the long haul (no pun intended) it may be worth the price.

 

I wouldn't trust her either. j/k. My agency pounded into our heads year after year that even your best friend will rat you out.
