I got my cdl over 90 days ago, CRST will take me with a one week refresher. Covenant will take me with no refresher. If anybody has any advice as to who I should choose. Is CRST better with a refresher than Covenant with out one. The total cost of the refresher is $800, including
room, and transportation to CRST. CRST will deduct $40 a week for 20 weeks. I would greatly appreciate any input, it's getting close to closing
time and they are both looking better to me. Thanks.
Covenant or Crst

hmmm, gunshot or stab wound?

Is covenant offering solo or team position? ... crst? if team, that would be a deal-breaker for me. Are you telling me Covenant will bring in a new CDL holder with no experience and not require a refresher or trainer period? or just not require a refresher period?

Darn! I LOVE this site... You guys are funnier than &*#%!!!
I don't know CRST.... I drive for Covenant but would not be there if I were not on WalMart dedicated account. This is really a tough one. Toss the coin.... either one will be about the same.... -
Covenant has a mandatory 6 month teaming for new drivers. So, I guess you will team if you go there. But teaming is the worst part of it all. First you will have 35 days training and then 6 excrutiating months.... unless you are lucky enough to find the right team partner which is the most difficult thing. Good luck.

I posted this in another thread and I'll paste it back in hear for a little levity ...
Maybe his teammate will be 26-30, dark tan, blonde hair, blue eyes, perky d breats, beautiful smile, 120 lbs, smart as a whip, smells fantastic, at all times, can back into dock 3 at Joplin Tamko first stab, can navigate I-95 thru NYC blindfolded, eats like a bird, never farts, pees twice a day, likes the same music he likes, she will have a great sense of humor, earns Victoria's Secret points every month, makes extra money in wet t-shirt contests, looks good in jeans, fills out a sweater great, has been known to smoke a cigar and sip good tequila, and can chain-up at Truckee in 15 minutes.
... or maybe he will be something else entirelyWatsonDL1 Thanks this. -
The last CRST driver I met personally was crying, no actually sobbing, in the drivers lounge of a Flying J over his job. Should tell you something about them. or him, or both.

Covenant requires teaming for 6 months, I have to go out with a trainer for both companies. It seems that the difference in the quality of the companies is not large enough to justify paying for a refresher with CRST. At least Covenant provides 3 meals a day during orientation. Would you believe that CRST charges their drivers for their DOT physical and drug test. Thanks for your help. I'll
prepare for the worst and hope for the best.Last edited: Oct 13, 2011
