I have a question for all of you out there...has anyone found Rush Peterbilt to be ethical and know what they are doing for working on Cat engines?

I ask because we purchased a truck from Tulsa, and have had nothing but problems. It has been to Rush Tulsa, Rush OKC, and one or two places while it left us stranded on the road. None of them were able to correct the problem (poor fuel delivery, left tank being empty while right was still 1/2 tank for starters). Rush OKC tried (again) to correct the problem, and truck made it to Dallas before it had issues. The most recent time, it gave us problems in Dallas (blowing white smoke, shaking). We took it in...they said that the o-rings on injectors were bad, among other things. We had all o-rings replaced, new injectors, new cups. They said that the last shop to do an overhead (Rush Sealy) didn't do it properly (only about 50k since done), so we had them do that as well. Over $6k grand total. Well, we left Dallas, and by Denton the check engine light was coming on and going off. We made it a bit farther, and then more problems, and a rattling in the engine. We had to kill it there, halfway between Rush OKC and Rush Ardmore. Well, since it was apparent that OKC does not have good mechanics, and had a back log, we were towed to Rush Ardmore.

When the truck was brought in the next day, we were told that the overhead (yet again) wasn't done properly. Hmmm...I guess we are up to four Rush Pete's that don't know how to fix (or do PM) on a truck. (Tulsa, OKC, Sealy, Dallas). They (supposedly) tightened it all down and fixed back up, and we were on our way. I followed the truck for about 100 miles to ensure no other problems, and all looked fine, until...

I'm heading down the interstate, truck started shuddering, blowing white smoke, and then died. Nowhere close to anywhere. WTF???? Apparently guys at Ardmore don't know what they are doing either.

Since we got the truck, over NINE months ago, we've only been able to put 35k miles on it due to repairs, strandings, and down time. I know it was used, but this is a bit much...especially 5-6 trips for the EXACT same problem.

Anyone have any idea about the best way to get a working truck again, or make Rush buy it back and/or pay for past repairs and downtime?

    Thanks

Have you even thought of going to something other than a dealer as in a CAT shop? After the second time screw a dealer and go to the one place that will know all about one single type engine. The manufactures! That's in MHO!

Yep, thought about that...but CAT is few and far between out in Oklahoma. Since the truck died after Rush Ardmore touched up in Kansas, it will be going to a CAT shop up there. Hoping for good results, and that Rush makes good and covers all there screwups...I only hope they didn't trash the engine.

    More added:
Given that Rush Peterbilt is an authorized Pete shop, the thinking was that a different shop could fix the problem.

Hope you have all your repair records so when the cat dealer repairs whatever the problem is then along with that paperwork you can file am claim with rush to pay the bill.

Send a copy of all the documentation and a letter explaining what has happened to the owner of Rush, the BBB and an attorney. Have the attorney request that RUSH pay fare compensation for your troubles to avoid legal action. If that fails, take the muzzle off you attorney and let him go get as much cash as possible. Why, when being told that that the previous dealer in the same company screwed up the overhead would they bill you again to repeat the same work that has already been done, again? I would be throwing toys outa my crib!!:biggrin_25516::blob6::smt021:banghead:
