Hello everyone, finally decided to join after several years of reading off and on. A little about me: I'm 26, married, father of a beautiful 2 year old girl, currently a stay at home dad and work part time as an elderly persons caretaker, mechanic was my profession from age 16-24. I've been interested in trucking for a long time, it was my first career choice but I was too young, now I'm old enough and mature enough so it's time to give it a shot. Will be trying to get into CDL school and training next Spring/Summer. Already have some books coming and studying the CDL book, as well as researching the profession heavily since finally deciding to go for it.
Good ol' boy from Kansas

Thanks, I have an uncle thats been trucking for 17 years who also thinks its a good choice for my situation and personality. Plus, one of my grandfathers was a trucker, so I guess I get the bug from him.

Toronto, not that far from me. Use to ride the Harley down there, stop and have breakfast at the cafe. -
Eaton, our little cafe sure isn't what it used to be back when Vickie ran it. I'm a Harley enthusiast as well, collecting parts to build a Shovel right now.

That's sad, that was a super little cafe. There would be about 10 of us that would ride down there once a month. I don't have my bike anymore. Had to sell it to pay for my oldest daughter's funeral 9 yrs ago this month. Hopefully will be able to get another one sometime next year. My bike was an '81 FLT, shovel. Also had a '96 Heritage for a short time.

Yep, you probably saw me there if it was 10+ years ago, I was in there alot back then. Sorry to hear that about your daughter, thats rough.
