First, there is no federal permit for firearms.
Second, never keep a gun under your pillow! I answered a medical call while on the fire department, wherein the subject did that very thing. Don't know if he had a bad dream or if something woke him up. He fumbled his pistol and blew his own jaw off. He lived, but obviously couldn't tell us what exactly happened.

It is your job to know the laws for the states you are planning on carrying in and obeying them. You cant plead ignorance judges and employers dont care!

New to this forum, but not to the industry - and am still astounded about how many drivers are willing to put up with this. True home is very close to the 104 on 95 in VA and know exactly what goes on. I still believe that the problem will remain unsolved until (1) drivers stop utilizing the 'services' of the lizards, and (2) law enforcement takes it seriously as not only a prostitution violation, but something more stringent.
-
(3) Owners and operators of the stops chases these people off and prosecutes offenders.

Wanna bet? If a girl pulls a gun on me, getting "hit" is going to be the LEAST of her worries. If I get half a chance, she'll be looking for a blood transfusion, a skin graft, and surgery to remove my boot from her kiester!Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
I was in training a month ago. Truck stop in Tenn. Lizzy came a'knockin, my trainer said "No, thank you". She proceeded to get vocal with him. I peered out the top bunk, and WOW ("Lizard" is such a appropriate name). He said "Cops are called, go away". ( I was a bit freaked at this point, being a green horn, or what ever you call us, lol) . To my amazement, she attempted for a 3rd time, and climbed on the drivers side steps. My trainer finally said "Hunny, I have my CB on, and can have everybody in here in seconds come to my safety, Go away...Now!".
That seemed to do the trick.
Now being on my own is a different story. I am in heavy debate with myself weather to carry a gun or a weapon. I can be intimating If I need to be, with or not with a weapon. But I will NOT put my life on the line for a thief. Everything in my wallet can be replaced. I have speed dial to my bank, credit cards, etc. (But, thanks to this forum site, i will carry 2 wallets, 1 for the thief and another for me).
Is there laws/regs for using James bond gadgets (if i could get one)? How bout that spring knife system that attaches to your forearm, and springs out when you activate it.
I do know, when I can afford one, either a Pit, or Rot, will be riding with me at all times, also will be trained. I'd like to think, that if I go down, my dog will take care of business. -
No facts? What more do you need than an article showing you a driver arrested? That's funny!
Keep on carrying outlaw trucker. Though you never used it and probably never will, it gives you peace of mind. Just hope you don't go through any searches. I guess you never heard of a concealed weapon too. Oh I forgot, you keep it locked up. You are going to ask the robber to hang around while you get it and load it. Tell Jason how you stay safe. -
If you don't mind getting intimate, you'll have no problem. It's those of us trying to avoid getting intimate that need weapons.7122894003481 Thanks this.
