we are slobs

We have one driver who is ex-military.He keeps his truck spotless.
We have another guy we call caveman,what a slob.He goes all week with no shower,wears wrinkled clothes and has hair down to his waist.
The company made him cut his hair and start wearing uniforms.
Now we all have to wear uniforms but at least they pay for them.

 

The Hollywood Sterotype is that truckers are cool because they do anything for their families, do cool stuff like win nation-wide arm wrestling competitions and hang out in Vegas.

 

I had forgotten that friggin movie. Kurt Russell pciking up his kid from military scool right. With the evil rich grandfather trying to buy him out,dying mother begging for a reunion of father and son. Got to love those c list plot lines.

 

OP yep lots of slobs. Call them out on it.

Place pics in emails to their respective companies. Tell 'em in the stop you'll but them a #### shower.


You know the reason most Walmarts along an interstate put those bars up to keep trucks out?Because they were tired of trucks leaving crap in their parking lot, and tearing up their landscaping trying to make it between medians.


Call out the drivers, and make sure truck stop owners know whom is leaving trash every where.Perhaps if they get enough people telling them company XXXXXX is leaving crap everywhere they will flat ban them.

 

Sylvester Stalone was in that movie. Kurt Russell was in a movie where his truck was named "The Porkchop Express" can't recall the name right now.

 

Big Trouble in Little China. Which is one big trucker story since it starts after he says, "You ain't gonna believe this."

Over the Top is the arm wrestling one.

 

I am a youngin, and these were staples back in the 80's when I was growing up.... too bad it's nothing like that now!

 

The aunts reaction is soo sad, and even more sad is that would likely be the parents reaction also. I believe my generation (I'm 58yo) was the last generation that was actually disciplined and taught how to be a honest, productive citizen by their parents. Maaan when I was a kid, if a neighbor saw me doing wrong, I'd get a slap on the ### and then when I went home I'd get another from my parents! I cannot imagine what the world will be like when these brats are adults, it's scary!

 

Like another driver stated...'one bad apple'. For those of us that bathe regularly, wear clean clothes, keep a neat truck and police our own trash....a big thumbs up.
We ARE the majority. But it is that small percentage of drivers that have no regard to cleanliness and hygiene, that give the rest of a bad rep.
