either are great o.c's (operating center) they will assign you though. west memphis still operates their gates where as dallas is done remotely out of green bay. Both O.C's have great Driver service personnel but west memphis has better mechanics. but truly it don't matter where you run out of they'll send you any where when otr. good luck and welcome aboard.

I hope to be in some company's orientation in a month. I'm leaning toward schnieder...I would like to do OTR...by it looks like they're only putting experienced guys on those routes...it looks like regional is the only option....any insights on this?

The Home Run program has many options. One allows you actually make your own schedule ;). You do have to agree to work a certian number of days per month. This choice isn't a wise one for new guys, or the young guys with family.

I currently run the 14/7 and love it, as does my wife.

IMPORTANT !!!! Anyone considering "Home Run" needs to have their personal and financial life in order. If you need to average more than $500 a week, every month, without fail. Consider regional or OTR.

Choose the one closest to your home....no brainer.

Hello Markus. SNI offers otr to new drivers. But, the needs for otr and regional drivers is different at each operating center. A recruiter would be able to let you know what's available. Good luck on your decision :biggrin_25525:

I asked Dallas or Memphis because I am located at an equal distance from both hubs - to the minute! Believe me, if there was a difference in distance, I would be smart enough to choose the closest one... That's a "no brainer."

ModernDrifter, Usually it would be the closest to your house and in your eyes it nay be to the minute however as you'll learn schneider distance and time will be different than yours. Now depending if you go OTR,Regional,Dedicated or whatever that will also play a role in your O.C. Say you go southeast regional you will actually be out of a Pilot in Lebannon Tn. The Dbl's are upstairs in the offices above the truck stop(exit238 on i40). If you go say Nissan dedicated which you can't because you live outside the hiring area but anyway you are then dispatched out of Mt. Juliet Tn. so your line of business will determine your O.C more than anything. Hope this helps

I live in Wilmington, NC. I work on a dedicated account out of the Wilmington Port. The OC where I did my orientation was at Charlotte,NC. My DBL is in Carlisle, PA, Where I am dispatched out of. How is that for confusing

Always freight going to and through Arkansas. W. Memphis might be better suited to getting you home. IMHO

No, they do not. Terminals in the west are Salt Lake City, UT; Portland, OR; French Camp, CA; Fontana, CA; and South El Monte, CA (intermodal). There are also many drop yards, including one in Henderson, CO.
