Has anyone heard of or attended the Affordable CDL Trucking School in CT?? I'm considering getting my CDL A and this school appears to be the most reasonably priced in CT @$3000. All the others range from $4000 to $9000. It's a 4 wk course fulltime 8hrs a day. I'd like to get some feedback

Check in your state for any community colleges that have truck driving courses. Here in NC there are several colleges that teach driving and are under a thousand bucks.

With any truck driving school, see if they are accredited/connected to a community college and registered with your local workforce (unemployment) office. If you are a veteran with educational benefits remaining, a lot of these schools are covered and for many of the starting companies, you can draw those benefits while you are on student status and in training with that company.

    harleybob,

I went to that school and would recommend it for actually getting the skills needed. The class sizes are small, 5 or so at a times, which lets you get more than enough wheel time once the classromm section is over.
If you want Glitz and fancy stuff, pay more somewhere else, if you want to learn to drive, go there.

They are accredited with the state of CT etc.

Thanks for the info. I have a few questions about the school. Is there any job placement available and what types of companies hire from this school also the schools reuputation in the industry?? Where are you working now?? The only thing I thought was a little different was the training to load construction equipment on a trailer.
