In the meantime, I recommend getting an SD card so that you can occasionally save a backup. Any blank SD card will work. Hardly any memory is used, so get the smallest SD card the store has. To save a backup:
- From the map screen, tap anywhere on the map.
- Tap on TOOLS at the top.
- Tap on BACKUP/RESTORE in the lower-right.

Brian ,
I been reading all the reviews on 7750pl and other gps 's. I am in market to buy one soon.
I just return my GPS, PC Miler for complete refund after using it for two years ,and trying to fined really good one that do not take me to: No trucks Roads and under 12' bridge.
so far i have not seen one. unless you guaranty me that if such happens with your GPS that cobra will cover my damages .
I heard from other truckers that Rand is doing the same so is cobra and Nuve Garmen for truckers. It seems every one's map and software is coming from same place or same source?
when we as truckers pay 500 percent more then regular GPS price we expect not to end up driving of our own to fined a way to go around a bridge or residential area that we are not supposed to be in. which we relied on GPS that took us in.
so, where is the warranty from the manufacturer of this situations that the GPS putts us in not so fun situation specially when kids are playing around or there is traffic and you need to back up so you do not turn your truck and trailer in to convertible!
why do we have to pay for updates when only update that we need is for the manufacturers to fix the errors in GPS that we already paid for.
maps need to be updated every 3 years or 5 years . if we need to update our map after 90 days of purchase that means we paid for very old map.Mic Thanks this. -
bumpity bump bump...(had to get 10 characters)

i've had the 7750 platinum for about 6 months now and overall it's a pile of crap. There is no map update available anywhere, and the mapping software that comes with it is about 5 years old or more. I am exchanging mine for the new rand mcnally. at least right now if you buy one you get free map updates for life. After spending $420 and some change on a piece of equipment i shouldn't have to spend another $100+ on a non-existent map update. Not to mention the graphics on the 7750 look like an old nintendo game compared to the TND. Not to mention all the times I about threw the thing out the window because it wouldn't stop trying to route me the wrong way. My advice to Cobra is to start over. You had the right idea, but did it wrong. Fix your map, Fix the hour log to work properly with the current FMCSA HOS rules, Fix the graphics, Fix the zoom(the unit display will zoom out all the way if you miss a turn or decide to take a different route. i don't want it to zoom out if i make a wrong turn. how am i suppose to see on the screen where the next possible turn is if the map is zoomed all the way out?). i advise you go back to what you're good at. two-way radio communications, because in my honest opinion you have failed in the gps category.

Yeah the national road network SUCKS ### i cant even get to my House with this GPS . Plus if i do go to my house it will take me about a 100 miles farther out of the way then the shortest route Only thing i really think these are good for is trackin your ifta Miles and speed maybe time of day.
A good old map is way cheaper and works all the time plus it does not fall off the dash or windshield when your driving.
