lol great i confused everyone. lets make it simple.
the truck im looking at has 24.5 rubber on the tractor. I don't know if they're low pro or not. Am I ok with that set up given all the other specs and weights/terrain i'll be in too? Or what is the IDEAL set up for heavy short haul on light axles with 100k + pounds? I'm more concerned with stressing the drivetrain than fuel economy for the purposes of this question.
Do I NEED heavy specs?

Low pro 24.5 would be easier on the drivetrain than 11r24.5 rubber.

I've got a W900 with a 18 spd and 3.55 rears and 11r24.5 rubber. I used to haul heavy all the time up around 110,000 anyway been as high as 140'000. Never had any problems unless you are on soft/steep ground you won't need bigger gears.

I think what the truck has now will suffice just fine. You will definatley want to make sure they are virgin treads tho and not recaps. Other than that, as everyone already said, just take it slow and drive it easy. That is the biggest factor.

Oh and I run caps too. It puts more money where it belongs (in my pocket)
