New driver been on the road for only 3 mths alone. Looking to change companies and not sure what companies are good. I have been hired at Knight and reading the blogs which they are not good about certain companies. I'm hearing good and bad could I please get some companies that I could maybe look into before making this decision.

Schneider is a good company i work here, and have for 7+ years my wife and i used to drive team ubtil our daughter was born and now i'm a solo driver. Schneider has a great Operating Center network and are really safety oriented. Lots of freight customers and ok benefits. Good Luck

Don't jump out of the pan into the fire. Knight seems to be having some serious "issues" lately and they certainly have a lot of negatives going in and few positives. If I had to run Knight, today, I'd look into their refrigerated division ... probably stay a little busier and there's not as much competition for limited freight.

Roehl or Schneider might be worth considering, too in GA and with limited solo experience. Hope you're still with your current carrier, if you are, try and hang in there before you make the attempt to change carriers.

If your employed now stay with them until you find another job with as little experience you say you have you wanna keep it fresh and don't wanna show gaps in employment. Good Luck

BettyBoop2, I looked at the hiring maps for Maverick and the only division there that you are within the hiring map for (Atlanta is barely within the map for this division) is the flatbed division. My husband got hired by Maverick Transportation with very little experience. He has just delivered his first load on his own and should be on his way to pick up his second load. So, I do not have as much information about pay after training as some others do - I will have more information on that starting October 28, 2011. However if you go to http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/motor-carrier-questions-the-inside-scoop/ there is much more information on pretty much any motor carrier company out there.

You drive for Knight and are reading blogs about them? I would go by your personal decision as to whether you like driving for them or not. Knight is a pretty good company overall. I wouldn't do too much job hopping this soon in the game.

I don't think OP is working for Knight now, I think OP has been Ok'd to come on board with Knight. Not sure where Op is currently working.

Betty the other post sugesting snydier is correct, and I drive for Epes. They have been great to me 7.5 years and counting. A smaller carrier like Epes fits me . But that is not for everybody. Give em a call , we hire newbiees and it may be a fit . Best of luck ! Feel free to pm me if I can help !
