If they lied on their app or failed a drug screen. There's nothing can be done about it.
Look at it like this...if all of the above is true. The person purchased a one way ticket through fraud, and is now crying foul because it wasn't a round trip.

It happened to me with CR England. I was riding with Bob Coswell on day one. I was getting over a tummy ache from the day before and I felt woozy after just two hours of driving. So he called Randy Wagner, whom threw me off the truck in Youngstown Ohio. Said I was trespassing on corporate property. So there I was still reeling from the third floor vending machine from Hammond Indianna at a Pilots.
I managed to get a taxi to Greyhound, and he only charged me about $1 per mile, I gave him a fiftyy, got on the bus and went home.
It was in the description some where that told all candidates to have enough travelling money to get yourself home. No reason was given at the time.rocknsand Thanks this. -
It's a bad situation, and I can see in a few situations, a carrier worth a #### would provide bus fare home at least (such as too many OOR miles?) but if the driver failed a random, or was booked for disorderly at a bar somewhere, or was involved in 3 accident in 12 months, he needs to be gotten out of the truck. That driver made choices, violated policies, and on and on. Carriers who don't immediately fire a driver find their trucks near the driver's home trashed, radios stolen, fuel siphoned dry, batteries missing, straps/chains/tarps gone, etc. That driver figured he wasn't going to see his last check anyway and his DAC is going to be trashed anyway, so what can the carrier do that they won't already do? Many drivers sadly aren't that bright and don't think actions all the way out through the end.

The guys question was answered well.
All I can add is....
These shoes were made for walking....
Some companies do have a heart and will get you home. My last one gave you a bus ticket and stuck your belongings on a pallet, shrink wrapped it and shipped it to you.catahoula Thanks this. -
Hey there, Can y'all school a new guy and tell him why a driver would have OOR miles? I understand detours and maybe getting lost. What other reasons are there and how strict are these companies?
Happy trails. -
My company fired a driver on the spot 800 miles from home after he went to the hospital, puking blood, seems he did a little to many drugs and drink 3 or 4 to many beers on top of that.
Yeah find your own way home looser!wingnut105 Thanks this. -
OOR isn't too big of an issue, for some companies. Others it is. Most want you to stay under 10% or lower.
One of our bonuses it locked into a 5% or less OOR for the quarter. Not a big deal, if the name on the side of your truck doesn't say "Swift".wingnut105 Thanks this. -
Pete, Any idiot that stupid deserves to lose his job.
Danc, 5% doesn't sound too out of line. A 500 mile trip shouldn't be jacked up so badly that you miss it by 25 miles unless there was a helluva detour that couldn't be explained/verified. -
This is why whenever I spot a problem/detour I call it in AND send a message over my Qualcomm. CMA for the win
