I have only dealt with 2 d.c.'s in my time,
1st was in New Mexico, had a 75 year old guard checking in 6 trucks by himself (so much for arriving 30 minutes early) which in turn I was deemed "late" by the jacka**es at the window, charged the $50 for lumper and then they sat me bumped at the dock for 6 hours, because they did not have enough help for the old guy checking in the trucks.
The other is the D.C. in Pageland, SC, never had a bad experience here and was in there every friday night for months, of course I was only doing drop and hooks there.
WalMart DC's.... ALL OF THEM

Most of them don't want you showing up more than a half hour early but if they have a lot of trucks to check in and it causes you to be late at the receiving window, they mark you as a late arrival and depending on your company's detention policy is and they keep you at the dock longer than that, you miss out on detention pay. Well, at least with my company. If you show up even 1 minute late, you basically forfeit your chances for detention pay. -
I had one where I got there and was waiting at the window. Had to wait for them to finish their exercises and then their meeting.. took about 45 min. I logged on the BOL the time I walked in and the time they actual came back to the window. I was there way early. Got in the gate at the before 30 min mark and towards the parking in 5 min.

The worst Walmart is brundige AL through the gates real easy but checking in forget about it could take an hour or more I been to Paul's valley there nice people there. I been to a lot of wal marts but brundige is the worse
'olhand Thanks this. -
I had one receiving person even tell me that your arrival time isn't based on what time it is when you arrive at the gate. I even missed out on detention because of it.
But yes, I send my arrival call when I show up. Sometimes, I'll even set the macro up before hand so that as soon as I get within 5 miles of the customer so that it will go through when I send it. I never thought about writin' on the BOL my actual arrival time but since Walmart is so frickin' picky, I highly doubt it will do any good. -
we had a drop @ bentonville dc. apointment was like 5 or something. was a load of clothes from florida. after a 2 hour nap they said it wouldnt get done till 1pm. they mustve been taking 1 shirt out at a time , trying it on and than hanging it at a store.

Most rational thing to do is, if you are going to sit here and b**th and moan about Wal-Mart.....then DONT GO THERE!!!!!
I just don't see the point in whinning about policy's and the way they treat you, but you still go back time and time again, kinda like the guy who marries his ex-wife 2 more times LOL -
Nobodys whining, well, at least not me. As long as I show up between 30 minutes to an hour before my appointment, it's not an issue.SHC Thanks this. -
I was just giving crap to you all....I know some of you have no choice but to go there as that is where their company sends ya. I was just feeling a little sarcastic this morning
corneileous Thanks this.
