I roll for ta. Its not bad. Im a company driver. I average 2400 to 3000 a week. The key to trans am is you stay away from the lease and get lucky with a good driver mgr. In the very begining after hired they do starve you a bit. I think its a little unwritten test period to see if you can hack it. My first 3 weeks i rolled about 1100 to 1700miles a week. I never complained and was always polite. I was just about to jump then it was like someone turned the switch and shes had me rolling real well ever since. I've been here about 6 mo.

Actually, he's spot on. That was my experience with them also when there. Just didn't like the high degree of control they excerised, the very poor training program they had, and watching and talking to all the poor suckers who leased and were starving.

Read the post just above yours. Those are 85% of the reasons why I quit.

He's almost spot-on. I've been driving with them for a year now as a company driver, and I was actually pushed my first few weeks. I average about 2500 thanks to a good driver manager. Love the trucks; the automatic 10-speed, APU, built-in power inverter, and fridge will spoil you! I've had some good and some bad times with working for them, but all-in-all, they've been relatively good to me.

As for the leasing program, all three of my students did that whenever they graduated (didn't wanna wait for company trucks - I lucked out there, too, got mine right away), and they're actually doing better than I am, paycheck-wise. I thought about signing a lease, myself, but I also like being laid-back: can't do that with a lease or you'll lose money quick.

Good? Trucks, Trans Am pays for EVERYTHING (even has toll cards for OK, KS, and FL - never have to stop to pay tolls anymore, lumpers, towing, repairs, fuel, you name it), coaching program (for trainers, not trainees), good dispatcher, quick communication and response from staff when needed

Bad? Governed at 62 (not entirely bad, but can be a drag sometimes), barely any west coast loads (went to CA once in my year), forced routing/fuel/dispatch, terminal repair garage closed on weekends, miles are slowly being choked from us company drivers because they eventually want to become an all-o/o lease company (rumor?)

Glad I got out of there when I did. Talked to a friend of mine, who's still there, and he was telling me about all the new rules they have regarding CSA and blah blah. Wonder when they'll be going to e logs?

I don't work in the offices - I can show you pics of my company truck if you want. :3

To be fair, though, I got lucky. My dispatcher's good and keeps me rolling with little downtime. I'm leaving, though - going into the tanker business.

Hey man been a while. They are going e logs. Lease driver who want the new Qualcomm system in their trucks get it first. Friend of mine who started when I did is running with it and hates it hehe. Took him 2 years and the losing of his house on the lease, big shock, but he's finally running teams with students and turning out a paycheck. Fun thing is they put out a memo saying you can not team with a student till the 2nd or 3rd week and only when the student agrees, then turn right around and on day one give a load that must be teamed to make it. So glad I quit this company. Only good thing I can think of about my time there was my truck was blue hehe.
