He's a disabled driver.

My question is: if you can't climb the stairs, how are you gonna get in the truck?
-
Are there handicap equipped big rigs? If you cant pass a DOT physical you cant drive can you? That is the only post on this forum from this poster. Im curious if this person was actually approved to go to orientation and if they are aware of their disability.

Just because I can't walk very far or climb a lot of stairs. If you would have looked at my years of experiece is at the time I set up my account was 10 years. And thats only what I can leagley backup. I drove for almost another 10 under the table. I have owned my own truck and trailer. I cought MONO from a (the doc was most like sorce) dirty glass from a truck stop.
DenaliDad Thanks this. -
I don't need a special truck. I am just checking out differnt co's. I have already been aproved for warner and a couple small co's.

Its either pass or fail. Ive seen a couple disabled drivers that clearly couldnt get in or out of a trailer... However they always seemed to have an able bodied team mate.
Just remember DOT only sets the minimum requirement. A company like Prime can set their own requirments above the DOT minimum as long as they are equally applied to the applicants.
Questions are on the duck walk... and if they still do the box test.
I know my first physical involved bending over and picking up a weighted box and then holding it for a specified length of time (use your legs not your back)
However, the last two renewals didnt have the box. I did have to do the duck walk and some arm motions.
It was just a renewal, so I dont know if the hire physical is a little more involved. -
Congrats Seebs!!! Might see ya around
