I spent my first year in trucking with ATS back in 2007, Really have no complaints about them, of course I was a Company driver not a L/O. I got home every other weekend, had a brand new truck, my FM kept me loaded, and if she couldnt get me a load, she had no problem paying layover or dead headin me forever to get to one.
Here's a scenario of 1 event and you decide:
Had a layover just outside of Clevland waiting on a load for the next morning, morning came and received a msg that the load had been cancelled and FM was looking for another, This was a friday morning by the way. about 2 hours passed and got a msg saying she found me a load in Kentucky, get moving! Now keep in mind my 14 yr old daughter is in the truck with me, If memory serves me correctly the load was at a steel mill or something similar. We arrived at the shipper, sent my arrival and checked in with guard, guard came out to inspect the truck and noticed that my daughter was in the truck. The guard stated that there could be no riders inside their facility, I asked if there was a break room or somewhere safe that she could wait on site for me to go in and get loaded, guard replied: No, not here, theres a strip mall in town you could drop her off at!!! I told the guard she was crazy, I was not leaving my 14 yr old at some strip mall in ##### Crack Kentucky by herself, So I called my Fm, told her what was going on and my FM instantly said "The hell with that, find somewhere to park and I'll get you something else.
So we found a place to park, about an hour later, Fm called and said head for the house MT, At first I thought I was in some kind of trouble, So I asked if I was, she replied Of course not, it's your weekend to be home and we can't find you another load heading that way so you can deadhead home to Anderson, SC!
So we headed home, I figured that I wouldn't get paid for that, which wouldn't have been a big deal if I didnt with all things considered, but my FM did pay me for the trip home.
Hopefully this will give you some insight on ATS as a company, I am sure that they have bad complaints as well, But, with my time with them, I cant complain, I was well taking care of!Lonesome Thanks this. -
Also as for any lease purchase with ANY company, If you are set on doing it, you are going to do it regardless what anyone tells you. Just do your homework on the program and the company before hand. Be prepared to spend 3-6 weeks out at a time to make money if not longer.

SplitFilleR.....that's an AWSOME experience you had with them. But since you are talking "passed tence", it might help if you told us why you are no longer with them.

Agree with White Dog...why did you leave?

As I stated they were my first gig driving, after a year with them I decided that I wanted to try my hand in a lease program, but I wanted to get away from flat bed. So like an idiot I worked my notice and became a L/O with another company. HUGE MISTAKE!!!

Unfortunately....no matter how much you or I say it.....people are STILL going to do it. Sad; very, very sad.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
I guess people like to find out the hard way.
These drivers still don't have a clue...no matter how much you try, you will never own the truck nor make any $$ to even pay your bills.
These fleece deals are rigged to profit the company, not the driver.
All your doing is paying the co's operating expenses for them and driving for free.
If you want to be an owner op, go to dealership and put $$ down & buy your own equipment independent of any trucking co.
