Wireless ISP?

I have D/L fairly large files (210 MB and larger) and constructed or moved websites using Sprint. I havent had many problems and speeds are fairly good to excellent, depending on location.

I still want to know if Sprint limits their bandwidth like verizon does. I'm a very heavy internet user, like to play a lot of games, download a lot of videos etc. I don't want to get cut off doing what I like doing.

Also does anyone have any problems with TMobile wireless hotspots? I mean do they have all truck stops covered?

 

If you opt for the Sprint "UNLIMITED" plan ($59.99 month) they DON'T LIMIT your usage or Bandwidth. I have heard that Verizon and Cingular DO.
I started with the Sprint S720 PCMCIA card, but had to get rid of it when I upgraded my laptop. It was relatively fast for the most part. But NOW I have the U720 USB modem from Sprint, which sadly has been discontinued, but you can still find them on eBay between $30 and $130. I just paid $30 for mine, but I searched for several weeks till I got this one because I had a "LIMIT" to what I was willing to pay for one. Let me tell you, this thing is SOOOOO FAST, I can't believe Sprint discontinued it. What makes it so fast is: it has a DOUBLE USB Dongle, plugs into two USB ports. It is every bit as fast as my ATT DSL at home (750KBS +plus+ down and 256KBS up).
I am IMPRESSED.

I just did a "speed test" (http://www.google.com/search?q=inte...ent-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3RNFA_enUS231US232&aq=t) and my DOWNLOAD speed in Pearl River NY is 799KBS

 

This is what I have been told, plus what I heard Leo Laporte (the Tech Guy) say: that even though Cingular's Plan is "unlimited" they cut you off after 5MB each month. I can use up that much bandwidth in 3 days If I am "real busy".

Oh, and I just ran another Speed Test from Cranbury, NJ.
1166 KBS download and 158 KBS upload

 

I believe the U720 USB modem (Novatel Expedite EV-DO) that Sprint uses is compatable for use with Cingular as well, you might want to check that out.

 

I just ran a NEW speed test, I got 1924 KBS (1.87MBS) download and 158 KBS upload speeds.

I'm almost sold on sprint because of you. Does anyone have any idea how sprint will perform (bandwidth wise) in Sugar Land, TX? or Houston? I'd greatly appreciate it if someone can measure bandwidth in these places.

 

I am ALMOST positive that the Houston Metro area (including Sugarland) is a Sprint Broadband area. I know that DFW area is.

Call Sprint and ask them.
