Never mentioned gender, that was a VERY cheapshot on your part.
All I was trying to bring to the focus is where do we stop? Courtesy, sense, morality cannot be regulated, just never works.

The kilt thing was a joke. No cheap shot intended. Never had any set of legs distract me from doing my job.Just isn't worth my life to give a rat behind about someone I will likely never engage in conversation let alone spend any time around.
Percentage no. Just an example and it should include a swift and a pam driver I saw exhibiting the same behaviour about merging from an on ramp. I will say I believe 10% of aCDL holders have no business being behind the wheel because of temperament. Just listen to the crap band as you say at any back up. So like I said I have no problem with the ban. I wouldn't be opposed to a psych eval being added to a DOT physical.
I sincerely hope they extend the proposed technology to operation of GPS units ( it should be set for directions only while moving not adjustable), WIFI laptop cards, Those Ebooks, MobiTV. All used in trucks right now none of which should operate while in motion.
Your first examples cited gauges, mirrors, and the like all part of doing your job properly. Driving a commercial vehicle does not require talking on the phone where as looking in your mirrors is. Big difference in the comparison. -
I have gps and mp3 on my device along with my ol lasts phone let them try to catch me how can they prove who is using what at what time. Ie: honey will you text bill and tell him we are drinking beer in 30 minutes. Or are we not aloud to talk to our co- pilots while the truck is in motion?

So, now you are a supporter of a bigger government and more regulations.
Sure do change your mind alot. -
Taz you can't be for real are you that guy? I think I've been at a safety meeting with you in the past .

Survival of the fittest. Some are gonna make it and some ain't making laws to protect the week is gonna only produce more week. Don't know if you've noticed but we have a population problem in the usa. Its a bit scary passing some one weaving to and frow but I get it done. Flash the h beams give a halla on the 2 way tell them the q is on the top left and o go around quickly no 15 mile pass. I think we should pass a law so... give me a break

And whom would you have regulate public roads if not the public through government? See there is an appropriate role for government. The problem arises when people confuse the issue by regulating morality.
Keeping the highways reasonably safe should not be regulating common sense. However in the absence of it's use technology can and should be used to prevent people's lack of it from harming others. -
I do not need the government or the police to tell me what I need to do for safety.
You like big government, go for it. -
Ah the flawed premise sans a cognitive answer. How shocking.
To be clear I am all for the government fulfilling their role as appointed to regulate conduct on public roads. You can exercise all of your freedom from these laws be refusing the use of those roads.
